VOCs run on demand — tell us the unit(s), how many workers, and whether it's at our Regents Park yard or on your site. We'll confirm a date within one business day.

1 · Tell us what to verify

Unit(s) of competency, number of workers, preferred dates and location.

2 · We confirm & invoice

$255 per unit verified. Invoice with payment details sent same day.

3 · Assess & get the card

Short written/oral assessment + practical observation. VOC Card issued on completion.

We deliberately keep VOCs at $255 — barely above cost. It's how we earn your first visit. Most workers who VOC with us come back for their next ticket, their 5-year renewal, or bring their whole crew. We'd rather win you for a decade than profit on day one. And if you're deemed not yet competent, you can re-sit after refresher training — no re-assessment fees.

About VOCs

A Verification of Competency is an assessment of a person's knowledge and skills. The process assists employers with meeting their Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) obligations to deem staff competent to perform a task or operate plant and/or equipment.

Australian industry regulations require employers and persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) to ensure their workers can clearly demonstrate their ability to perform the tasks related to their job role when plant is used. The use of a VOC is one way of ensuring this happens.

VOCs are undertaken on persons who already hold a current ticket, licence, or unit of competency, to verify that they are still competent to that standard. Participants must provide evidence of their existing competency. The outcome is a Statement which references the activities, tasks, plant and equipment verified. It does not satisfy the requirements for the issuance of a nationally accredited unit of competency.

Any person deemed not yet competent will be offered the opportunity to undertake refresher training and another VOC assessment after they pass the refresher training.

The assessment process involves a short written and/or oral assessment, plus direct observation of the practical task on the relevant plant or equipment. On successful completion a VOC Card is issued.
